Christianity is not to believe Abstract Principles

Thank you for being here today. Let's look into God's glorious word together.

We are still on the set of things that the Christian religion is not. When we understand what it is not, we will be completely confident of what it is. This means we will recognize God in action, and gladly partner with Him.

To be a Christian is not to believe a list of abstract principles. What does this mean? It means something that it lifeless and powerless. We hear the Gospel, and we even do the Gospel, but we don't expect a manifestation of God in the Gospel.

In short, it has become theory, that is true, but does not make a significant difference.

That's not the case Christianity is not an abstract principle. It's effectiveness does not lie in the wisdom of men, but rather in the Power of God. This is how the Scriptures put it:

"My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

(1 Corinthians 2:4-5)
