Developing the Witness

Let's look at the abc's of Salvation. We'll begin with the Voice of the Lord, Jesus Christ. How do we discern God's Voice in our lives? The Lord gave a plain process: "My sheep hear my Voice" (John 10:27) If you belong to Him, you will hear His voice. There is a serious question of counterfeits. How can we discern it is the Lord and not a Stranger?
Counterfeits endanger, and their purpose is to lead us out of God's Providence. We overcome them through the same process we gained Salvation. When we became converted, something changed, some felt it, others didn't. But we 'KNOW' that there is a witness inside us.
Here's how the Bible puts it:
"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you KNOW the truth."
(1 John 2:20)
The same concept is repeated in verse 27:
"The anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you." (1 John 2:27)
Not that we don't need Teachers, rather, His Anointing (His Witness, Will) is not taught.
That anointing, in you, is also the witness that is developed to become a voice, and it takes quality time. We don't start out hearing voices, we begin with a little witness, in the forms of approval or disapproval. And it all begins with Salvation, receiving Jesus into our lives. It's the critical start.
