Formed for God's Family

They say it takes a village to raise a person, and it's true. Natural families can be ideal places for the formation of belief, but it's never enough. We pick up much more from schools, stores, and even hospitals. It's the same in the faith.

Churches work that way, too. Once you've found a safe place to worship, make room to learn from what God has spoken to other saints. Some things have come easy. Other things have been to them as one that has escaped from the fire. Unless you are into playing with fire, settle down and listen to what they have to say.

Why is this important? The Church is a safe space for developing Biblical ideas. Oftentimes, in attempting to obey God, we "reinvent wheels" of all sorts of things that have already been achieved by other believers. Many churches are filled saints that have insight and details on projects they have already done. They'll tell you if you ask them.

The process of shaping our faith through the experiences of mature believers is a good time to learn, develop, and grow. If God lays it in your heart to run a community centre for teaching free tax resources, there's a lot to understand from nurses that have done something similar, especially if it was done in the Lord.

Finally, the Spirit of God speaks through others. Opportunities for Biblical insight and information will come from casual conversation with other saints. They may say something that confirms what has already been impressed in you without even realizing it. It's good to go to church.
