Living out the Kingdom

Hey friends and peers on Twitter (now X) starting tomorrow, Wednesday, February 14th, I'm going to be doing a 40-day devotional during lent on this app only.

To me, lent is such an amazing period in the Christian calendar, probably because I enjoy fasting and any opportunity to draw near to God. During this period, we fast and separate ourselves, to the light within us, and the lights of each other.

I have this dream about lent that it'll be a period when the entire body of Christ will gather together and worship at His Throne, East, West, North, South.

God willing, this will be a yearly tradition for me, I'll discuss insights on faith-based books that have shaped my convictions. This year, it's starting with Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. It has had such a profound impact on my walk with God.

Fair warning, we probably won't end up in the same place as the author. I'm just using the deep convictions in the book to shape the discourse of this dialogue. The intention is to focus on a subject area.

Upon conversion into the faith, we begin a journey into God's Kingdom. The outworking of the Kingdom of God in our lives can be better understood by three main principles:Grace, Faith and Love, we are responsible to balance all 3 in such a way that our lives glorify God.

Grace has been a game changer for me. There's so much to learn and understand about "God being there for us" as opposed to anything we can do for ourselves.

When we try to do for ourselves what only God is meant to do for us, things get complicated and confusion sets in. On the other hand, when we leave it all to God, we will become victims in this fallen world.

Living out a balanced life, then, is the trick. How we balance them out speaks more about who we are than who God is. We are not responsible to know everything, but a life in Christ, based on conviction and aware of God's grace, should yield certain outcomes. I understand these outcomes to be:

Justice

Representation

Free Speech

Human Rights

Rule of Law.

An American version can be:

Justice

Democracy

Free Speech

Human Rights

The Constitution

Find your light, you've got one. Then, let your light soo shine that men may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Pax,

Ayodeji
