Mature believers

Another great benefit of belonging to a good Church is that they are often filled with mature believers. When people mature in their relationships with God they become a reservoir of wisdom, waiting to be tapped into.

In heaven we'll be surprised by believers we've never heard about and yet are recognized by God. People who did significant and sometimes dangerous things simply because they loved God, and understood his ways.

"Meanwhile, a Jew named Apollos, an eloquent speaker who knew the Scriptures well, had arrived in Ephesus from Alexandria in Egypt. He had been taught the way of the Lord, and he taught others about Jesus with an enthusiastic spirith and with accuracy. However, he knew only about John’s baptism. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him preaching boldly in the synagogue, they took him aside and explained the way of God even more accurately"

Apollos knew God, loved God, and served according to the level of his understanding. When he came across mature beleivers in Church, his service to God developed further. Priscilla and Aquila were mature believers and they got the job done. They got him further equipped, and moving on.

Mature believers will inspire you. They know God, and are on their current assignment, yet in their walk with God, they still have something to give. You're drawn to their non judgemental unconditional love, overflowing from the love of God shed abroad in their hearts. They have learned how to flow with God.

Mature believers will support you. Upon developing a relationship with them and sharing what God has laid in your heart, or given you a heart for, they'll easily guide you. They've been there, too, and understand how to help your thinking in Christ flourish.

Mature believers will admonish you. It could be a gentle loving redirection, or a stern disagreement. Both types come from God. You see, a strong 'no' from a mature believer is more likely a flashback. They are not against you, by discernment they are seeing a principle or wisdom being ignored. The same admonishing that brought the strong 'no', will probably guide to the better 'yes'. They are valuable to the work of God.
