Predestination

Today we will focus on Salvation, from the viewpoint of Predestination. It is a sacred mystery of the Faith that we all too easily forget.

Whenever there's a conversion experience, predestination was at work.

Our Story begins with a troubled couple battling addiction. Once the neighborhood model, they are on the verge of losing everything. Without forethought the wife walks into the home of Rev Benett. She offers her Jesus, the Savior of Mankind and a brief prayer is said for her.

The next day her husband barges in. "I want what she got yesterday?"

Why? His wife is no longer addicted and so now he wants the same treatment. They too say a short prayer and he also receives the Lord. His addiction dissappears too, and their lives are restored. It's a true story. We'll focus on what Jesus did for them later. Today I'd like to show you something else. They didn't walk into that room that day by accident. That was God ordering their steps, it's the mystery of Predestination. Scriptures speak about predestination in the book of Romans.

"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son." (Romans 8:29) After we get saved and begin to work out our Faith, we tend to forget that God was working long before we knew where to find the book of Haggai in the Bible. Predestination is a Mystery of our Faith and continues even after we have read the entire Bible.
