Repentance guards against self Deception

Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” - Genesis 11:4

Thanks for being here Today. We are still looking at Deception. In our everyday lives, Mankind is easily deceived, but unless that Deception is made plain, we will continue to experience it.

That's what we get from Today's text. The builders of the tower of Babel had experienced Deception. There was no one in their midst to instruct or guide. Correcting them required a direct intervention from God.

When we welcome Repentance into our lives, as a foundational doctrine of the Faith, self deception becomes clear and evident. We turn, and God shows up, to Bless.
