Repentance, the realization of Truth

Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 29:8-9

Thanks for being here Today. The value of Truth is underrated in our world. There are instances where the consequences of lies or misinformation can be dangerous. When we want to undergo a construction project, for instance, Truth becomes precious.

Thankfully and unfortunately, human activity is not subject to this degree of precision, as a result we live with lies, as opposed to the Truth. When we realize that something told us has been untrue, and turn, this is what the Bible calls Repentance.

That's what Today's Scripture reading is talking about. We know Today that the Prophet Jeremaiah was right, in the midst of false prophets. Had the false prophets been believed, an entire Nation may have been thrown into confusion and disaster.
