Repentance: The Remedy to self Deception

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know, ” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” - Genesis 4:9

Thanks for being here Today. We are still looking at Repentance, the necessary foundation for Faith. Faith seems difficult, but the reason it appears that way is because we do not understand what it means to Repent.

In other for Faith to come alive and God to show up in our lives, we need to eliminate the root of self deception. It shows up in different ways. It's not uncommon to find people who have lived there entire lives, deceived.

When we realize what we actually are as human beings and the picture the Bible paints about us, as dirty, ugly, evil and wicked, we come to b the place where we stop to rely on ourselves. At this place where we cease to trust in self, Christ comes in. This ceasing from self is what the Bible talks about, and it is what God is trying to accomplish in Cain in Today's Scripture.
