Repentance: The Turning Point

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

- 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

The Bible often talks of Dunamis Power, it is the power of God that changes our circumstances. One day the Apostle Peter was fishing, and caught nothing. The Lord Jesus Christ preached with His both, then gave Peter instructions. They caught so much fish that their ship began to sink, they had experienced the Dunamis Power of God, externally.

The Bible doesn't only speak about external Dunamis, but also about internal Dunamis, and this is the focus of our text Today. The ability of the Power of God to change our belief systems. We experience the Power of God when our beliefs break down. This is what the Bible calls "every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God."

Our beliefs are formed in different ways and according to different patterns. Each pattern leads to a different pattern of reasoning. When people commit suicide, most times it's caused by a wrong/ negative way of thinking. No matter what the thoughts are, they can always be summarized as "Man against God". Scriptures talk of this often.

With the Divine power of God, they can be broken, when this is broken, our belief systems give way to the True Knowledge of God. This change in belief system, is what the Bible calls Repentance, and it is a turning point in our lives.

When this Turning point has occurred, our very mode of Faith Changes. We pray differently, think differently and Worship differently.
