What did Jesus say about rules

What about Jesus? Was he rigid and strict on rules? And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27)

By this statement he was pointing to the fact that the rules are actually a means, and not an end in themselves. When we say #no to rules, we find the hidden treasure that God has for us.
